Malaysia – Kuala-Lumpur LRT3
SYSTRA won the contract to produce preliminary designs for the third LRT line in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia. SYSTRA was selected for its expertise in developing solutions involving U-shaped viaducts.
This 37.7 km line, which comprises 26 stations, a 35 km viaduct and 2 km underground section, will run between the district of Bandar Utama and Johan Setia to the west of Kuala-Lumpur. Ten of the stations will be equipped with park and ride facilities for 6 000 cars.
This third LRT line should help increase the public transport share of the transport mix from 20% to 40% in accordance with the new transport master plan.
SYSTRA’s Role:
As project manager, SYSTRA will produce preliminary designs. These will cover:
- Civil engineering structures
- U-shaped viaduct
- Underground section
- Maintenance and storage facility
- All railway systems
- Operating plans
- Rolling stock
- All interfaces
SYSTRA will also act as consultant to the local contractors in charge of producing detailed designs.
